This parameter defines the function of the module. There are three basic function: Alive (heartbeat), Alarm and Warning.

The Alive function sends a message on the bus until the surveilled device sends messages on the bus. You can choose the toggle value to "emulate" an heartbeat function if the device doesn't have one.

The Alarm function sends an alarm message when the surveillance time is expired from the last message sent from the surveilled device.

The warning function can be used to stimulate the surveilled device.
A little before the alarm is sent, a read value is generated on the Warning object; the object must be linked to a readable group object of the surveilled device (e.g. a temperature, a status).
